Just a thought.

Just Something to think About
I have always known that God never changes.  He is the same Yesterday, Today and Forever (Hebrews 13:8)   I've even told a few folks of late that God is the same today as He was last night and yesterday and the day before and the month before that.  He is the same God that met you exactly where you were and blessed you with fresh air, beautiful sunrises and the smell of bacon frying in the morning.
But it never occurred to me that sin never changes either.  Sin still costs the same as it always has.  The wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23)  Sin always brings death and that will never change.  Even if the entire world believes that sin holds no consequences, it doesn't change what is true.  Think about it this way, You can believe all you want that driving on the wrong side of the road is legal but that will not change the outcome.  Sooner or later the police are going to catch you and fine you or you will cause an accident where not only property may be damaged and people hurt, even killed.
Sin is the same.  The world tries to tell us that it is OK.  It tries to lie to us.  But the world has been lied to as well.  The world is following another great deceiver.  Satan, and he is deceived as well.
The crazy thing is that most of these People don't even realize they are misleading you.  They actually believe that immorality is OK.  They think that because it is now considered acceptable and “normal” to engage in these actions that there will be no consequences and that they can get away with this self serving behavior.  All you have to do is look around at our society to see the truth.  Broken homes, unwanted children, poverty, drugs, abuse, out of control abortions practiced, diseases, mental illnesses, the list could go on and on.  No one is getting away with anything.  But because Gods Truth is not something that they are familiar with and the only reality that they know are the lies they have been told their entire lives.  These lies come from everywhere, school, TV, movies, music and even have made there way into our Churches and Youth groups where well meaning leaders spout the same lies they have come to believe as truth.
That is why you have to be brave enough to go to Gods Word.  We must be radical enough to believe the same book that gave us the road to salvation also can teach us how to live.  We don’t base our lives on what we see in the world around us, we don’t allow the world, our neighbors, our co-workers, government, television personalities, senators, teachers, or anyone apart from the Word of God to base our decisions on.  The Word must be what we keep as the focal point.  We live and move and have our being (Acts 17:28) in Him, in the Word.  We believe what God Says!  If we believe it for our salvation, for eternal life, why can we not believe it for our lives here?
Just a thought from my new normal.
